The PPM issue is purely because I do not have 5.8 set up as a viable version that PPM can install Win32-Exchange from (partially because I haven't tested it on 5.8).. (Neither does Dave Roth -- unless he's changed it recently, but I don't think he has)..
I'm guessing you have E2K SP3 based off of the version info that the example spit, and that would pretty much deprecate the need to set up LDAP, because LDAP (other than to AD) is no longer used by the Exchange database, or the module in E2K. I'm also guessing that your Exchange setup is fine. E2K installs are pretty hard to break (unless you don't have the client tools loaded, but again you said that you were running this script on the Exchange server, and then it's pretty unlikely that Exchange will allow you not to install the tools there). The PDC issue you are having is not related to Win32::Exchange, but to Win32::AdminMisc (I'm not sure that Dave's compiled a version of Win32::AdminMisc for perl 5.8, but I haven't followed that thread since none of my perl installs are 5.8, and will let Dave comment on that if he needs to).. And may be off on the reason for the problem. FindCloseDC (in build 036) will find a suitable Domain Controller if GetPDC continues to fail.. Thanks to Andy Webb for that contribution.) Don't assume this is your problem... I just overhauled the code to put the Mailbox features into the Win32::Exchange::Mailbox module and may have broken something while trying to give the module a more structured namespace for additions like Win32::Exchange::SMTP::Security (in build 036 --- smtp "access list" and "relay list" manipulation). Can you get a copy of 035 from CPAN --use the old example (from build 035) as there are differences for the namespace change (or email me direct and I can help..) and see if it is broken there (build 035 seemed pretty solid)? I'm going to look more at this, but not right this second. (that would also tell us if there is an incompatability in perl 5.8 (but I agree, it's a longshot, and looks more like my code in 036).. More info later, time for bed. Steven -----Original Message----- From: Peter A. Peterson II [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 9:12 PM To: Peter A. Also, in your documentation, you mentioned setting up the LDAP service -- I don't recall specifically enabling that service, but since parts of the script were functioning properly, I assumed that wasn't the issue. Can you think of anything regarding the module that would stop it from creating new mailboxes or setting attributes, but *wouldn't* stop it from querying Exchange for information? Again, that sounds like permissions to me, but I *am* running as DOMAIN\Administrator. pedro -- Peter A.
