For Intel cards (specifically the EtherExpress Pro100 line (8255x based cards), I have found that this info is with the driver info in the registry, but -- for instance, some 3com cards don't have any info in the registry for Link and duplex, because it's all handled by their executable and probably stored in some encoded dat file (guess on my part).
