Is there a Windows Volume Shadow Copy Perl I/F module, especially for Requestors? I'd like to use Perl to wrap a backup program so it can perform backups but Windows lame paradigm of file locking won't allow even the most privileged user access to open files. MS answer is the Volume Shadow Copy Service. Anybody familiar with it? Is using a Perl wrapper around the program to instantiate a volume shadow copy, i.e. a snapshot of the disk volume at that point in time, even feasible? Thanks for any help and advice you can offer.
