Hi everyone,

I've done up a couple of ASP pages that use Net::LDAP DBI,DBD::ODBC and a
SMTP module (not all on the same page,i t's mostly for a whitepages so
it's LDAP heavy).

The question I have is fairly general. What are ppl's experience with
PerlScript in ASP?

I'm finding that the performance is beyond appalling. This was on a
server with 1 gig of ram and dual 2.8 p 4's.

I'm just working through cleaning up the code and reducing lines of perl
code where possible, but I guess I'm hoping that some tuning and code
clean up can realise improvements to keep the perl script in place.
Otherwise I guess I'll have to redo it in vbs to see if there is an
improvement (which I suspect there might be).

Any thoughts/suggestions I'm more than happy to hear about them.

The pages are going to replace a compiled CGI that manages to keep up with
the load, however it's not that flexible, which is why it's been written
in ASP.

The IIS server is seeing something along the lines of 5-8 connetions , as
shown in perfmon per second.

Please feel free to CC me too.

Thanks...

Pete
