After some googling, I have been able to install the Net-Dict stuff
manually and then as expected I ran into problems with AppConfig::Std.

So I got the App-Config package from ActiveState and installed it - all
without problems using ppm, except it does not provide the
AppConfig::Std stuff :-(

Looking for AppConfig::Std status shows that it failed because its
prerequisite AppConfig failed for Windows .... oh well.

So, I've learned a bit more, but still am stuck.

If it helps, I've put up a ppm package of AppConfig-Std
and Net-Dict at
   http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/
for ActivePerl 8xx, and at
   http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppmpackages/
for 6xx.

Thank you, Randy

Are there any special considerations for being behind a fire wall?

I notice there are only ppd files at the indicated links, which means that ppm would have to retrieve the rest via the net.

I'm now trying to set up a proxy so I (hopefully) can avoid my current problems
