...It still makes no sense that with MSIE and Opera and LWP::Simple the error messages just are not printed, even with the content type in the BEGIN block, and thus the errors seem not to occur, and that they come from a module that's neither used or called... anyhow, I don't have time to find out neither to tidy up my code. I solved the problem by commenting out the error messages that were for debug purposes, in the module that wasn't called, scratched my head, strengthened my belief that miracles in ICT do happen, wrote 4 hours to the project and that's it.
