Subject: WMI problem ?

hello list!
I am trying to write Perl
program to get some WMI info remotely
from machines on local network
(workgroup , no domain )
I understand that it is no Perl problem :
but I am stuck with this -
I can't connect to remote machines at all with WMI !
I am using Winxp SP2
I disabled windows firewall completely,
I can run WMI scripts locally,
I have identical users
with identical passwords
those users belongs to administrative group with all necessarily privileges
but trying to connect to another machine, say with wmimgmt.msc, I get
"access deny message"
/in vbSCRIPT
WBEM_E_ACCESS_DENIED
0x80041003/
'Current user does not have permission to perform the action.'
my question is :
how can I get more specific diagnostic ?
from whence come this message for example ?
may be I have to look for such info in log files ?
thanks you for any indications /if any/ !
