date on NT system

Hi all,

I'm running perl under NT using bash shell!

Why this does not work?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
$NOW = `date '+%m%d%y'`;

print "$NOW";
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I get an error: the system cannot accept the date entered!

any clue?
