If you don't use my then they by default become 'global' vs local
(known within a call or block.

        More to it than this, but that is one of main gists.

Subject: When to use MY statements in PERL scripts?

Can anyone tell me the purpose of using 'MY' in perl scripts?
eg, MY $test=$mw->Button;

The perl book I have doesnt mention it at all, and the "Learning Perl/Tk"
book by O'Reilly doesnt expain either! It just starts using it without a
reason.
