perldoc perlipc, in the section "Sockets: Client/Server Communication". It
has an example of clients and servers, both with socket/connect/bind/listen
and IO::Socket. The "plain" version also has an example with a forking
server; you may be able to translate that to your server (which uses
IO::Socket).
