Hrmm, Raptor's most recent question lead me to CPAN where I stumbled
across the CGI3.pm library. Its suppose to be a faster implimentation of
the current CGI.pm. On my celeron500 ( 256MB, NT 4.0 ) , I got these
results from the supplied test scripts:

CGI3.pm
timethis 1000:  2 wallclock secs ( 2.09 usr +  0.00 sys =  2.09 CPU)
timethis 2000:  4 wallclock secs ( 4.08 usr +  0.00 sys =  4.08 CPU)
timethis 2000:  4 wallclock secs ( 4.11 usr +  0.00 sys =  4.11 CPU)
timethis 2000:  4 wallclock secs ( 4.09 usr +  0.00 sys =  4.09 CPU)

CGI.pm
timethis 1000:  3 wallclock secs ( 3.19 usr +  0.00 sys =  3.19 CPU)
timethis 2000:  6 wallclock secs ( 6.22 usr +  0.00 sys =  6.22 CPU)
timethis 2000:  6 wallclock secs ( 6.22 usr +  0.00 sys =  6.22 CPU)
timethis 2000:  6 wallclock secs ( 6.20 usr +  0.00 sys =  6.20 CPU)

The tests are basically

timethis(2000,q{
        start_html('A Simple Example'),
        h1('A Simple Example'),
        start_form,
        "What's your name? ",textfield('name'),p,
        "What's the combination?", p,
        checkbox_group(-name=>'words',
               -values=>['eenie','meenie','minie','moe'],
               -defaults=>['eenie','minie']), p,
        "What's your favorite color? ",
        popup_menu(-name=>'color',
               -values=>['red','green','blue','chartreuse']),p,
        submit,
        end_form,
        hr;
 });

Neat. Does anyone use this? I doubt it would ever make any noticeable
difference in the world but its nice to know it exists.
