hi all, I have a porblem designing a studio-setup. Fact is, I have 1 WIN98-box (PII 400, 500mbRAM) this is the working-console next to the Audio-recording (PROTOOLS and Neve-console). The Midi-setup is totaly seperated, controlled throw a Yamaha Digital Mixer and the doepfer-"regelwerk". now, i getting some MIDI inputs in this box (from a keybord and the doepfer-"regelwerk") and sending a midi output to a sampler via the EWS64XL. AND, I sending out a midi channal to a second box. Here beguins perl working. The second PC is an old IBM-Aptiva with LARA-DOS on it. (486, low RAM) just fine for MIDI. It has 4 MIDI outputs. and a serial-port. (on the serial port it gets some information from the postroduction-studio / next door). The reason, why I can't use a MIDI-BRIDGE is, that a Perl-based program generates special effects for the midi-equitmant, wich is not suported on Midi-effects. The perls working fine and fast (at the momant (its not a 1:1 setup !!) it makes a midi file from the original midi-file and stores them to the HD (in case of the incomming informations of the serial-port (not implemented, yet !! next callange:-) ). If its done, its sends a "ok" back to the console, thats starts the recording session for the yamaha and Neve and sending the timecode to the MIDI-PC. (maybe I get an other one, if this to slow, or needs NT, but i looking for a solution at this way...) NOW MY PROBLEM: How can I send MIDI-DATA from the HD to the MIDI-Port ??????? Maybe you know i solution for NT, or Unix, please send it to me. thanx for any kind of help. Again, the porblem is to conecting the midi-port of a pc and sends out realtime midi-events. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------- an other thing by the way... I build up a key-besed-Sinus-generator (16'tel of a 4/4 beat) with FM, AM and template change modulations, for the same projekt. It generates a wav 4 beats long. I start a WIN32::SOUND process to start the wav. Now, Iam getting 1 .. 8 wav files, (same sampling_rate, same bits, same tempo, same length) and want to start them simultan. is it possible to start n Sounds at the same time ? or how can I merge them into one ? Thanx for your time, and interest. Kris _______________________________________________ Perl-Win32-Web mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listserv.ActiveState.com/mailman/listinfo/perl-win32-web
