I too have had a similar experience and am still having trouble getting
scripts working in web pages. On an old computer, some scripts came up as
web pages. Currently I see the script flash across the window like a text
file and then closes the window. I am an experienced computer professional,
but after three days, I am at a lost.

I have a NT 4.0 server with IIS on new hardware. We are using a piece of
software called SMPRO which handles subscription lists. There is a script
(S.PL) that should come up as a web page and allows a user to administer the
software. All I see is a window open, text screams across the window and
then it closes. If I catch it with a printscreen or pause, there is HTML
formatting, but it is not being formatted as HTML. I did create a file
association for perl in explorer and File Types. I also went into IIS and
created a APPLICATION MAPPINGS and created file associations. I also put
PERL into my path variable.

ANY Ideas?

As a side note. I installed PERL a few times, hoping that I did something
wrong the first time and that a fresh install would fix things. After the
first time, the installation wiped out a global APPLICATION MAP from my list
which brought my web server to a halt. The next time, it wiped out a
different APPLICATION MAP. So I would make sure that you have a list of all
the DLL's and their extensions if you are going to install the software a
more than once.

Good luck

Subject: Installing Perl...

Thanks guys for help...!

I just installed Perl, but not in the way manual describes.
I just unarchived the package (Without running install.bat), did not
installed any additional drivers on my comp, just mapped extension.
I do not know, where is the problem, with install.bat or drivers.
Maybe Larry Wall, or whoever prepares it, should revise the manual, at least
installation notes.

Thanks again...
