I have a question regarding memory consumption in perl/win32.
I use a simple perl script for pinging a webserver for monitoring purposes. The script runs all the time. The problem with this script and other similar scripts I use is that it seems to use up more and more RAM memory (as viewed in the Task Manager in win2k) the longer the program runs. This really amazes me. The script really does the same work for every cycle and there is no reason to build up memory. Can anyone possibly explain and/or suggest a solution? Is there some command to 'reset' the memory consumption every cycle of the script, or similar?
