Not awfully so, I don't read p5p actively. [rereading the thread] Off-hand I'd say the easy thing to do would be just skip the IO::Zlib external test in VMS. The VMS environment seems to be tantalizingly close to a real POSIX/UNIX environment, but not quite. There *might* be some easy (and portable enough between VMS releases) magic trick that could be done, but my VMS-fu never was strong and whatever little I ever had has faded over the years, sadly. > > Paul > >
