As part of r22629, I committed a refactored auto::backtrace and associated tests to trunk tonight. I went for a direct commit because the style of the refactorings and the tests was very similar to that of the patches to auto::msvc committed at the same time. All tests had been passing for several days. Will resolve ticket in a few days unless someone discovers problems.
