All this discussion of optimization of the op despatcher and everything is
very gratifying, but I'm worried that it's a little bit premature.

Before we add any more features, clean-ups or whatever, I want to first find
out where we are with our core platforms. Then when everything works on those,
we'll gear up for 0.0.2 - I think this is justified, if only because a fair
bit of the assembly spec (the branching ops) have changed.

So, if you're running on one of the core platforms, please check out a *clean*
CVS copy, try and build and post the output of make test.

Committers, please don't apply *anything* that isn't related to fixing up core
platforms, tests or documentation.
