Cool, thanks. This looks really good, and I think it'll serve us well for
quite a while. Few things:
*) Don't sweat the U32_MAX-1 limit on string size. I'm willing to say I'm
comfortable in limiting the lengths of string constants to being too big
for most filesystems in widespread use in 1998. :)
*) I think we will need some sort of portable float format, unfortunately
*) The constants section will be holding more than just int/float/string
constants. We're going to have to put lists, arrays, and hashes in there as
well, at the very least. Maybe a type ID (with corresponding type ID->name
conversion table), serialized data length, and serialized data triple for
those.
