Hi, since a couple of days 'Parrot m4' is having some problems. One thing I noticed, were parrot crashes when doing a 'substr' on string read in from a file. I presume that this occured because the string representation was not set in 'PIO_reads'. I have added a test case in 't/pmc/io.t' and a quick fix in 'io.c'.
