strftime is and will likely continue to be available through the POSIX
module (or its successor). I see no point in re-inventing strftime
(perhaps well, perhaps badly) as a perl language core element.
I certainly see great benefit in including a nice date/time module, but
that's a topic for [EMAIL PROTECTED], not this list.
