That too already works in Perl 5. See dualvar in Scalar::Util. Perl 6 is very neat, but try to appreciate what Perl 5 can do. It's not a stupid, old language now that Perl 6 is being designed. It is still the powerful programming language with lots of quirks and handy exceptions. Juerd
