That won't match just a slash (`/`). Maybe:
.put for [\~] '/A/B/C' ~~ m:g { ('/'? <-[/]>*) <?{~$0}> }
And it'll treat `/a/b` and `/a/b/` as distinct if the input string is `/a/b/`.
