I use Arch Linux and thus usually have the latest Perl available.

I don't know enough about 5.12 to know what features became available with
it, but I have made use of various features of 5.10, including "say" (which
is minor but nice to have), "//", and switch statements. I want to learn
more about smart matching, since I have read about it and would be useful
for my work.
