for a blog entry I am writing I wanted to have a mapping of Linux (and
other) distributions and the perl version they supply.
First I posted my question on PerlMonks

TPF wiki:

I'd appreciate your help in filling the blanks on the wiki page
partially by copying from the PerlMonks answers, partially by looking
up on various web sites.
