I'm replying to both Gabor and Meir.

I think it's a great idea for a talk. I've worked quite a bit on moving from
scripts to actual solid applications, and I've also uploaded a few
applications to CPAN which incorporate the lessons I've learned. Some are
object oriented (using Moose, Mouse or plain bare-bones objects) and some
are purely functional. I've devised a few guidelines on how to write these
applications and how to convert scripts to full-fledged applications, that
support command line parsing, automatic configuration reading and more.

I'd be more than happy to share my experience on this subject.

Regarding what Meir said. Meir, I think it's awesome that you're giving the
newbie perspective. I know some of the people who attended that last meeting
knew much less than what you might consider as newbie. I think they enjoyed
the meeting because we didn't block out newbies and involved a lot of
beginner-level discussion and talks.

I'm happy that you're sharing your point of view, and I think it's important
to invest in it. That means that if Gabor does take objects into
consideration for his talk, then we should definitely give an introductory
to Perl objects. Not necessarily something hardcore, but something that will
help people be able to understand his talk, even if they're not Level 5
Perlers.

Would I be able to entice you give such a talk? :)

S.
