Hi Gabor and all,

A bit off-topic but not too off I hope. One of the things I found very
difficult in teaching perl is getting people to actually fall in love with
it.
Most cases, students who show up have some very bad opinions about perl
because other workers around them are misusing it.

It took me several rounds of trial and error but I've come up with an
opening presentation that I really like and works well (making more ppl
actually like perl). I use it for both basic and advanced courses.

Slides and other materials I use are freely available at:
http://ynonperek.com/course/perl/intro.html

And have a great time teaching perl :)

P.S. I teach basic and advanced perl courses at John Bryce & Hi Tech
colleges.
