We still use 5.8 in production since we're running CentOS. We don't use (nor
care much about) Perlbrew (even though it's awesome in and of itself) since
none of our code needs anything over 5.8 and it's very little code as it is.
Our Perl code is a relatively slender and elegant layer of system-related
concerns.
