It is the same in LWP::UserAgent as it is in WWW::Mechanize. The last is
just inheriting from the first. I use it the same way when I use LWP
directly.

That's exactly what I do. It is this way to make the sub backward compatible
with another script, even weirder... Testing is a bitch!
