One hacky way that I believe should work is to check out a separate copy
of the main branch and copy the files in the debian directory over the
corresponding files in your working copy of the 2.4.3_pre branch. Then
you just commit on that branch in the usual way and you should be done.

PS: the online cvs book has examples how to fold changes on a branch
back into the trunk more elegantly.
