Hi Kare: You do not need GMT to use PDL::Graphics::PLplot::Map, all necessary code and files from GMT are included in the package (PDL::Graphics::PLplot::Map).

I may have removed the high resolution maps to save space--I expect you could find out where the lower res maps are stored by PDL::Graphics::PLplot::Map install (somewhere under the perl5 library area) and add the high res maps from GMT to that location.

I don't know about national boundaries--they may only be in the high res maps as well.

Regards,

  Doug

I can't get PDL::Graphics::PLplot::Map to work proper. I have not done
all testing, but for sure I only get intermediate resolution (GMT is
installed) and national boundaries does not work. Any other of you had
the same experience?
