If you installed from source, then I believe that (like most software) 
uninstall is a manual process: remove the files from /usr/lib/..., 
/usr/bin/..., etc, or wherever they went to during the install.  Of 
course, you want to be very careful when you are doing this: if you're 
not sure just leave it alone, it won't bother anything!  If you are 
trying to reinstall, then uninstalling is not necessary--just repeat the 
install process.
