Chris,

Sounds interesting.  One feature that I find particularly compelling
about PGPLOT is the pgband function.  This allows the use to draw a
series of boxes and then query the corners of the boxes.  It works
very well for things like "brushing" of points to change their colors
or to select outliers and print out their values.

Maybe this would be more appropriate for the PLlot list, but since I
have you on the line.. :)
