Yes, logos and icons should look familar at many magnifications
and be very simple. They should go easy on colors and render ok
in black and white. And stuffing symbolism into logos usually
becomes limiting over time, or even corny in the worst cases. I
can only vote for the boring one with the "pdl" letters, but
then one could relieve the boredom with a couple of color dots
or something. But thats just one users opinion, and the pdl
creators should of course be heard rather than me.
