Hi all, This is a somewhat unusual post from me.
I am advertising a PhD project which might be of interest to someone here - http://astronomy.swin.edu.au/study/phdprojects.html#phdproject08 Normally I would not send this sort of thing to this list, but this one has a close computer science and possibly PDL development component. It's also quite fun scientifically (we already have one Nature paper out of this project) and their is a lot of really cool data in hand to play with. So I thought it might be of interest and I'd welcome re-distribution of this email to anyone you thought might be interested. (I wish to advertise beyond the usual astronomy channels due to the topic.)
