Out of curiosity, does P::G::PLplot pass make test?  When I run 'perl -Mblib 
t/plplot.t' on my Mac I also get a segfault after 'ok 17'.  Turns out test 18 
is the test for the low-level shade plotting interface.  I haven't yet figured 
out why.  (I seem to recall your instructions on the wiki skipping that 
bothersome make test step.)

(note-i just got this computer, so don't jump on me for not pre-testing 2.4.7!)
