1) Did you use the new installer from
http://spdg1.sci.shizuoka.ac.jp/grwinlib/english/

This has definitely been updated since the last time
I looked. It now appears that C code may be available
for the grwin driver itself which I don't think was
the case before...

He's probably using the grwin.exe that ships as part of the PGPLOT ppm
installation.
With it, the dialog box that pops up gives you the "close" option only -
so you can't get rid of the pop-up without also closing the grwin window.
That's a bit crappy.

I think that if you use the grwin.exe from the above link, you at least
get the option of closing the pop-up *without* closing the graphics
window (or, alternatively, you can close both).
That's the way it works with the x64 version of PGPLOT that I have, and
that's the way I think it *should* work. I think my x64 grwin came from
the above vendor - so I presume the pop-up with the x86 version also
provides the same yes/no option to closing the graphics window.
Clifford, is that right ?

That being so, fabio should indeed give the above graphics window a try
- it won't avoid the pop-up, but at least he'll be able to get rid of it
without closing the graphics window. (And maybe that's all fabio wants ?)

Cheers,
Rob
