Hi Scott: I, too, work with PDL in the weather field. I don't have many
good examples, but I do use PDL::NetCDF and PDL::Graphics::PLplot to do 2D
plots of weather and climate variables.
I'm also interested in any tools folks on this list use for weather plots
with PDL. I think simple pressure contour maps and wind barb plots should
not be too hard with plplot. Does anyone else have experience with this?

Good afternoon PDL list.
I have used PDL to do basic matrix operations and simple line graphs for a
while, but nothing too complicated. Recently I have
been doing a lot more work in the Weather space and updating and maintaining a
lot of NCL scripts.
The NetCDF PDL library works well and gives me access to the data from our
weather systems. But I can't seem to get anything
but a basic output.
On the front page at pdl.perl.org there is a number of example thumbnails of
weather charts - has anyone got some good
examples. Especially useful would be 2D plots of variables such as temperature,
pressure, and vectors of wind barbs.
Thanks
Scott
