PDL has extensive support for threading (what MATLAB calls vectorized operations) and work is on-going to enable 64bit indexing and memory mapped file IO. I would like to see a chapter in the PDL book covering large data set processing for the next release. Please let us know your experiences. Best wishes and happy PDL-ing!
