Hey everyone! I am *very* pleased to announce that both of my PDL talks from YAPC::NA have hit YouTube! I have not found Maggie's talk on PDL::Stats, yet, but I'm sure it's on its way. I plan on working with the PresentingPerl folks to get the talks on *their* website, so Maggie's talks should arrive through that channel at least.
Introduction to PDL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf1yfZ2yUFo&feature=plcp Introduction to PDL::Graphics::Prima: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IE-vnnRWiOg&feature=plcp Note that the audio is about one second delayed with the camera focused on me; however, both of those seem to lag the screencast portion by many seconds. I overheard one of the live video feed technicians mention that there was a 10 second lag in the live broadcast. I wonder if it all got out of sync at that point. I really hope they have separate streams of data for all three, but no matter what, I intend to fix this by the time it gets uploaded to PresentingPerl, even if it means writing some PDL code to shift the images on the frames. :-) Thanks to Joel Berger for pointing me to this! He also gave a couple of awesome talks, including a real talk about some of his scientific work, and how Perl helped him solve his problem more quickly than Mathematica. :-) Baby XS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4iSibn4ZEA&list=PLE3F888A650339DDF&index=25&feature=plpp_video Modeling Physical Systems with Modern Object Oriented Perl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnW1hTVQYfA&feature=plcp Please watch, post, tweet, blog, and generally disseminate to those who you think might be interested! Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it." -- Brian Kernighan
