Thanks for the tips. I will check it out. I am using pgm for the time being. The files are not huge so lack of compression is not really a problem.

If you want exact data transfer for ImageJ, I suggest using PDL::IO::FlexRaw to write out the actual data and then Import Raw into ImageJ. Otherwise, I would use PGM file format. --Chris
