The dealer said the market has been made more nervous amid rumors that
Armed Forces Commander General Wiranto may be replaced.
An institutional dealer at a Singapore-based brokerage said this is only
one of several factors unnerving investor confidence in the run-up to the
November general assembly (MPR) session and the presidential election.
"If Wiranto resigns and is replaced by his deputy Widodo A.S., it will
not surprise us. What I am concerned about is if this (move) is to allow him
to seek the presidential nomination," he said.
