Hi everyone,

We have two beetles I need help ID'ing please. Based on the antenna and
general shape of the insect I suspect dermestids of some sort but would
like confirmation. The one in the photo labelled trap 15 looks quite like
*Attagenus
smirnovi* but the other one I am not sure about (trap 17). It is longer,
slimmer, and seemingly less fuzzy but still has those slightly clubbed
antennae. Perhaps gen. *Dearthrus* or *Dermestes elongatus*? Note the side
photo of that one also. I apologize for the quality.

These are both between 3-4 mm long. They were found near the museum
offices. We are located in Utah.

As long as they are truly dermestidae I suppose it doesn't matter so much
precisely which genera. But again, I would appreciate confirmation one way
or the other. I have also been curious whether there any brown beetles with
clubbed antenna that impersonate dermestids?

Thank you for your time,

Katy Corneli
