I can take a stab at it and guess a type of ground beetle. They'll get in buildings, be a nuisance, maybe die in the building and provide food for harmful pests. However I don't know any that would harm objects directly by their own habits. Hoping an entomologist can confirm or tell you exactly the species, however could be tough without a better image as there are many types. My apologies for the poor quality-this guy was beating a path to run away from me when I was trying to release it. This beetle was spotted about a month ago crawling around on the floor and I found another one when I was changing out our sticky traps today. It has a hard shell and six legs and it looks like it's back legs are longer causing its rear end to stick up when it is walking. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
