Hi Julie,

thank you for sharing these picture-shots.

I know shrivel of eggs after treatment with controlled atmospheres (Anoxia). So
I can imagine that freezing does the same.

Best

Hello, Pestlist

Best wishes to everyone.

Attached are three photos of eggs (we're assuming) that we found on a textile
after being frozen. It's storage room is generally very low-level for pests
(slim to none) but a webbing clothes moth was found in the base of its storage
rack recently so everything was frozen then closely inspected. That's how we
found these eggs.

I've found a few images and videos of webbing clothes moth eggs, and they seem
to have a different shape. Also, the shadow/form inside of the egg in the
second image looks like it's perhaps a nymph and not a larvae? Any ideas as to
what these could be eggs from?

Also, does freezing shrivel eggs/warp them in anyway? We're wondering if the
egg forms have been altered in the freezing process.

Thank you, everyone.
