Noctuidae is now called Erebidae. Arctiidae is now included as a subfamily,
Arctiinae. This species looks like it is Pyrrharctia isabella, the adult of the
wooly bear caterpillars.

Hi Hannah,

Your moth is most likely in the family Noctuidae, so not a problematic species
for a museum. If its hindwings are yellowish, it could be a large yellow
underwing.

Best,
Isabel Novick

Subject: [PestList] Moth Identification

Hi all,

My team discovered this deceased moth in a gallery staged as a bedroom and
could not find a close species match. He/she is about an inch long.

Should we be concerned about this fellow, considering that the gallery also
includes a (prop) bedspread and curtains?

Thanks for any insights you can provide!

Hannah
