The springs connected to the the wires are really important.

Bird wire cost more upfront but no service contracts to clean spikes. JTV

Fran,
A system of thin wire suspended over the bridge could deter birds from trying
to land on it. Would be high enough not to bother people and is barely
noticeable. A local pest management firm might have experience installing these.

Hi Everyone,
A superintendent at a park has noticed whitewash over a pedestrian bridge and
is wondering about any deterrents to keep sea gulls off of it.
Since it’s a pedestrian bridge, no spikes or other things that could cause harm
to humans. https://www.nps.gov/katm/learn/management/bridge-construction-faq.htm
Anyone have experience with this? (Eagerly awaiting response, as it will most
likely also get added to the MuseumPests.Net “solutions” page for bird pests. 😊)
Thanks!
