I think there are also merits to satellite/outdoor heat treatment units, especially if the environment is in a warmer climate. A consistent power source is a concern for both low and high temperature treatment, as is maintaining insulation. A specialized, permanent outdoor heat chamber could work. Otherwise, relatively low-cost mobile heat treatment units (like a bedbug tent) usually need ambient room temps of around 70-75 F to start, multiple power circuits, as well as lots of space for air circulation and venting around objects. This can be difficult to accommodate in an enclosed building, so heat treatment on loading docks or outside on hot days with a mobile heat treatment unit might be better than doing this type of treatment indoors. (It's not easy to maintain building-wide optimal preservation temperatures when a giant oven-tent is releasing heat into a room!) If using mobile heat treatment equipment, constant surveillance throughout treatment may also be necessary to avoid fire hazards. Overall, I find that low temperature treatment can more safely cover a wider variety of artifacts in my own organization's collection than heat treatment can (ex: many electronics, waxes, and all photos/film cannot withstand high temperature exposure, and many plastics warp), but this may not be true for other institution's collections. This occurred in south-central Wisconsin in late May to mid-June, with outdoor temperatures exceeding 90 F on some days. We had a high volume of large objects (furniture size) that needed immediate treatment, so we rented a large freezer semitrailer and parked it on our grounds for a month (padlocked, refueled several times—no electricity needed). The trailer maintained temperatures between roughly -12 and -23, which we confirmed with two Bluetooth HOBO monitors. Despite being parked in full sunlight, the trailer was able to cool down to those temps very quickly, and then acclimated to ambient temperatures gradually enough upon treatment completion so as not to damage artifacts. Maybe you could slowly raise the temp of the freezer until it reaches Gallery temp? You need to have an electrical source that it powerful enough.
