Hi Mike, I found a few places that mention hemp, particularly as a snack for the casemaking moths (Tinea pellionella).

Hi Chelsee, Casemaking moths are generally attracted to animal fiber, wool, feathers, things like that. Could you share what you found regarding their attraction to hemp? Hi Chelsee, my assessment is, as a plant material, hemp is not attractive to clothes moths. Especially if the hemp is also coated with tar. On the subject of tar, I would also pay attention to the risk to the environment or people. Champhor is famous as repellent for many insects.
