How do you collect samples/specimens when something is found outside of a regular trap? We've asked our staff to put things in a small zip-lock bag, and write location and date information on the bag.
This causes problems, however, when trying to identify the pest. The bag is hard to see through with a lens or microscope, light reflects off the surface, and the bags often have a static charge that makes it difficult to empty the specimen onto another surface. What method(s) do you recommend? Thanks, Nancy -- This PestList and the MuseumPests.com web site are made possible due to the talent, intelligence, devotion and donations of hundreds of volunteers.
