Body would not look like this beetle, and this looks like a staphylinid. Typical with the rove beetles, the elytra of this species are short and the abdominal sclerites are visible from above. Powderpost beetles have very different antennae with terminal knobs, body not shaped like this staphylinid, but more narrow and parallel-sided. Pronotum also would not be wide like that pictured here.
